Privacy Policy
Effective November 4, 2026
This policy explains what CaptionCub collects, why, and what you can do about it. CaptionCub is operated by Cloud Data Hosting LLC (Minnesota, USA). Questions: admin@snugglesmp.com.
CaptionCub uses YouTube API Services. Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and by using CaptionCub you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
What we access from your Google account
When you sign in, you grant CaptionCub these permissions:
- Basic profile (name, email, profile picture): to create your account and show who's signed in.
- Manage your YouTube account (
youtube.force-ssl): to list the videos on your channel, read existing caption tracks you choose to import, and add or update caption tracks when you press Publish. - Upload YouTube videos (
youtube.upload): only to upload a subtitled video when you press Render & upload.
CaptionCub only acts on your channel when you ask it to. It never deletes videos, changes video details, comments, or does anything on your channel in the background.
What we store
- Account: your Google account ID, name, email, profile picture URL, YouTube channel ID and name, and the dates you signed up and last signed in.
- YouTube access token: a refresh token so jobs (like an upload) can finish after you close the tab. It's encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM).
- Projects: the video you upload or choose from your channel, an audio copy for transcription, the captions and styles you create, and any rendered videos.
- Job history: what jobs ran and whether they succeeded, so you can see progress and errors.
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
How we use it
Only to provide CaptionCub's features to you: transcribing, editing, styling, rendering and publishing captions. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your videos or captions to train AI models.
Transcription and video rendering run on servers operated by us. Your audio is not sent to any third-party AI service.
CaptionCub's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who we share it with
- Google / YouTube: when you publish, the captions or video go to your YouTube channel.
- Administrators of this CaptionCub server can see accounts and projects to keep the service running and deal with abuse.
- Legal requirements: if required by law.
That's it. No other sharing.
How long we keep it
- Rendered (burned-in) videos: deleted after 14 days.
- Source videos and audio: kept until you delete the project.
- Job history: deleted after 30 days.
- Everything else: until you delete it or your account.
Data stored by YouTube API Services that we keep without refreshing is deleted or refreshed within 30 days, as YouTube's developer policies require.
Your choices
- Delete a project from its Project tab. Its files are removed right away.
- Delete your account from your projects page. This removes your account, every project and file, and revokes CaptionCub's access to your Google account. It can't be undone.
- Revoke access at any time at Google Account permissions (also reachable from security settings). CaptionCub then can't reach your channel until you sign in again.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it: admin@snugglesmp.com.
Security
Connections use HTTPS, YouTube tokens are encrypted, and each user's projects are only accessible to that user and server administrators. No system is perfectly secure, but we'll tell affected users promptly if we learn of a breach.
Children
CaptionCub is not directed to children. You must meet the minimum age to use YouTube in your country.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and post a notice on the site for significant changes.
